Objective
|
My current art practice is concerned with developing an abstracted expressionist style of working with memory and painterly textures. The principal themes are desert, land and seascape memories of Australia. Regular visits to the Margaret River winery region in WA and maintaining a photographic journal are important in informing the work. The images are expressed with acrylic on canvas applied in layers with varying brush techniques and blocks of bold colours, including red oxides and cerulean blues. The audience often comment they are reminded of their own holiday memories abroad.
